Marquette Sawyer Regional Airport is the only airport in the Upper Peninsula that operates an air traffic control tower. The air traffic control tower provides an additional layer of safety for the aircraft operators in and out of Marquette, and is a key tool for attracting business to the airport.
Under the FAA’s contract tower program, Midwest Control Air Traffic Services, Inc. operates the air traffic operations from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm daily, handling over 20,000 flights a year, and providing another measure of safety for Marquette Sawyer flight crews and passengers.
